Benefits of Merino Wool
Moisture Wicking
Merino wool is the best fiber to regulate moisture. It does this by absorbing sweat from your skin and releasing it into the air. Whether you're hiking, running, biking, on the job, or just relaxing at home, our wool helps keep you dry and comfortable all day long.
Soft & Comfortable
Merino wool fibers are much finer than traditional wool, creating a luxuriously soft feel that won’t itch or irritate your skin. Comfortable enough for everyday wear and gentle enough for sensitive skin, it’s a natural choice for underwear, base layers and next-to-skin comfort.
Highly Breathable
Merino wool’s unique structure allows air to circulate freely, helping to regulate your body temperature in both hot and cold weather conditions. Whether you're layering up for winter or staying cool in summer, Merino keeps you comfortable by letting your skin breathe.
Anti-Microbial
Merino wool naturally resists odor-causing bacteria, keeping you fresher for longer. No lingering smells, even after extended wear. Perfect for travel, outdoor adventures, and everyday life.
Insulates When Wet
Merino wool can hold up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy against the skin. Unlike cotton or synthetic fabrics, it keeps insulating when damp, making it a smart choice for unpredictable weather and high-output activity.
Fire Resistant
Merino wool is naturally fire-resistant and self-extinguishing. It will not melt or stick to your skin like synthetic fabrics. A trusted option for first responders, campfire safety, or any high-heat environment.
UV Protection
Our Merino wool clothing helps protect you from the sun’s harmful rays, with different levels of UPF based on fabric weight:
-
Microweight (145 GSM): UPF 20
-
Lightweight (170 GSM): UPF 25
-
Midweight (245 GSM): UPF 50+
-
Heavyweight (400 GSM): UPF 50+
These natural UV-blocking properties make Merino wool ideal for long days or the beach or above treeline.
Renewable and Sustainable
Merino wool is a natural, biodegradable fiber with a low environmental footprint. Grown by Australian Merino sheep and shorn seasonally, it is a renewable material that supports responsible farming practices.

👍
Excellent sock for cold winter fishing. I use them for in-stream with Excellent).
i'm buying 2 more pairs
Purchased for my husband who works outside and always gets cold feet. After a day in these, he said “they’re a gal changer! No cold feet.” I’ve since ordered more. Thanks Minus33 for these life changing socks!
Great socks. Very comfortable and going to last a long time. It's nice to have a pair of wool socks that are actually tall enough to wear with my logging boots that actually separate the leather of my boot from my skin. I will be ordering more!!!
Very warm socks. My only complaint is that they are too tight for me. My shoe size is 10.5 and I bought XL. I wish they were offered in a size that was loose fitting.
Absolutely the best socks I’ve ever put on my feet!
I got these socks as a freebie with my order and I couldn’t be happier!! My husband gushed over how cushiony and warm they were on a below-zero workday.
Very well made, comfortable, and very warm.Happy with my purchase
Great padded warm sock for serious walking or hiking

Love them! So warm and wonderful up in Maine I really need these
Thank you.
The most comfortable socks I've ever worn. I have worn the same pair for the last 7 days straight since they arrived!
Very warm socks and last for a long time.
These are thick and warm. They are very comfortable
I've been looking to replace the expedition weight smart wall that I fell in love with years ago because they don't make it in green anymore and I have tried at least 10 things that suck I love this product The problem is after trying one to see how I liked it I wanted to buy seven more and they're out of stock killing me
Very nice
So thick, I'm walking on clouds
True to size, thick, warm. Smells real. Packaging was good.
These things are extremely comfortable and warm!!!!
Nice thick sock for boots.
Thanks so much for the 5-star review! We’re glad you’re enjoying the thick, cozy comfort of our Mountaineer socks! Perfect for keeping your feet warm in boots!
Just tried these the other morning bow hunting. My feet get extremely cold and very easily from injuries I sustained. It was 37 degrees out and my boots had little insulation, and these kept my old tootsies toasty I strongly recommend these.

A very thick and heavy sock indeed! Well-made, comfortable and warm. These rank right up there with the great socks I have had in the past (i.e. Filson, Patagonia, Smart Wool and Dachstein). Nothing against this great sock, however, one must account for its thickness when purchasing boots or shoes. Otherwise, they could feel tight and uncomfortable. I will be back to get more in the future.
