Fit FAQs

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up.

Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Does your clothing run true to size?

Yes, our clothing runs true to size and is sized similar to most other American brands. If a sizing discrepancy is discovered, you will see fit advice in that product's specific listing.

Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

Renewable

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

TOTAL EASY CARE

Even after frequent laundering they retain an 'as new' appearance. They won't shrink, lose their shape, fade or color-bleed. They remain soft and comfortable for the life of the garment.

Nice and warm

These leggings are great and warm enough as a base layer or on their own. They're comfortable and I don't need to adjust them much at all (I am 5'7" and 170 lbs). My only issue is that they started to pill in the crotch/inside thigh after one walk through the first snow of the season, so I'm concerned about their longevity for someone with thick thighs like me.

women's midweight bottoms

The fabric is SO smooth, soft and cuddly! Color is as pictured.. bright and vibrant. sizing is generous without being too baggy. I've warn these several times so far, under stretchy but not skin-tight jeans, and under loose fitting hiking pants. I've used them indoors in a cool/cold environment, as well as in the mountains in both windy and calm conditions. The fact I can forget I'm wearing them is testament to their overall comfort, and when worn under jeans or hiking/outdoor type fabrics, or nylon wind pants, provide an amazing comfort range, whether active or sedentary. LOVE these, and thinking of buying another pair in another color as I can see myself "living" in them much of the fall/winter/early spring, especially when enjoying outdoor activities such as birding, photography, hiking, etc.

They are so incredibly comfortable! Thank you for taking the time to leave us a great review!

Buying Another Pair!

I am loving the Franconia leggings - they are so comfy & I'm already planning on buying another pair. The first time I put them on, I told my husband that I was going to be buying more. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I really wish they had a pocket or two for phone/keys! If they had pockets, they'd have everything...

Glad you love them! I will pass your suggestion onto our design team.

Good but needs improvement

I like the soft cozy material and the simplicity of these. The xs regular is a great length and fit for me - I'm 5'3, 115lbs for reference. The thing I don't like about them is the thin waistband. It digs into the soft part of my belly right below my navel and is uncomfortable and leaves a mark after wearing all day. If you made this style with a thick waistband, they would be perfect!
