Waist: Measure the circumference around the natural waist, near the belly button.

Hip: Measure the circumference around the fullest part of your hips.

Shirt Length: This measurement refers to the approximate size of the shirt back length, from the neck to the bottom hem.

Inseam: Measure from the center of the crotch to the end of the ankle.

Athletic Fit	Regular Fit	Relaxed Fit

Fits best as: Base Layer Skin tight, slim, compression style fit. Wear this layer first and add on top of it if needed.	Fits best as: Base Layer, Mid Layer True to size, standard fit with a little bit of room to breathe, but not too baggy. Perfect on its own or with a t-shirt or thin shirt underneath.	Fits best as: Mid Layer, Insulating Layer, Outer Layer A little more room than you would find in a Regular fit. Enough space to fit 1-2 layers underneath.

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up.

Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended. If that is the case, please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Got the midweight in medium. I'm 5'4", 140lbs and normally between a S/M on bottoms. Definitely could have gone smaller. Super soft and comfy, felt like I was wearing pajamas even when I was wearing jeans. Was backcountry in temps below freezing with high winds and sleet and was more than comfortable when moving around and sleeping. I run cold and will get the heavyweight next.

Great fit and perfect for trip to Iceland

I shopped around for thermal base layer bottoms for a recent trip to Iceland. Every pair I tried was too loose in the legs and too tight in the waist. These fit perfectly, were very comfortable, and kept me nice and warm during my trip. Now that I have them, I'll wear them at home next winter too. I would just note that I would not wear these out in public without another layer over them (things were too visible...)

Unbelievable Quality

This wool top is of unbelievable quality. It’s amazingly soft and also quite warm. One thing would make it even better though - petite sizes. I’m 5’1” and the shoulder insets don’t fit very well. Because I’m using it as a base layer, the poor fit under the arms isn’t visible and the top is still comfortable. I’d buy it again.

As someone who is 5’9”, but on the smaller size, I have struggled for much of my life to find pants that fit my entire leg. Safe to say, these pants have allowed me to wave my struggles goodbye.

I work in a mostly unheated factory at the truck dock, so need a coat, hat and gloves at my desk. I got a pair of these and was so warm I got a second pair as soon as possible. The colors were also very rich and eye appealing altho no one sees them!

Not the same!

Last year I bought a Minus33 light-weight wool crew top and absolutely love it. Hence, this year I wanted to get a mid-weight wool crew top and asked for XL again. I am disappointed that this new XL is baggier (bigger) and the neck line does not cover my shoulders as well as the previous top, as it too is bigger than my first one. It is a nice top, but I feel like my neck is not nearly as warm with a larger neck line. I guess I should have ordered a regular large.

The shirt is warm and very nice, but it isn't quite what I expected.
