I don't enjoy writing bad reviews but I consider purchases of this price worthwhile of discussion and criticism.
The fabric itself is soft compared to some brands but not exceptionally so. I believe this softness is due to the fabric being blended with polyester, which obviously makes this cheaper to manufacture. Considering this also comes from China i believe this is priced too high.
The shirt weighs 34.4 oz but doesn't feel thicker, heavier or warmer than other wool shirts that I've bought which weigh close to 10 ounces less. I'm not sure how that's possible but this material feels thin and less durable than other 100% wool options. 80% of it's weight is 27.52 ounces of wool.
I really was looking forward to a heavy thick shirt but I didn't receive that. If this item was 44 ounces maybe it would've met expectations.
Aside from that it's a nice slightly less itchy wool shirt. Wouldn't recommend this purchase to my friends over buying some vintage filson or stormy kromer on ebay.

We designed our Expedition garments with an 80% fine wool / 20% recycled polyester blend to offer a balance of warmth, comfort, and durability. The polyester helps the shirt hold its shape over time and stand up to wear and washing, but we totally understand that some customers prefer the feel and weight of a 100% wool option.

Purchased for my husband's birthday. He is usually a medium but likes sweatshirts large. This particular shirt sized medium was perfect as it is a wide fit and will easily work with any shirt heaviness underneath.
