Fit FAQs

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up.

Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Does your clothing run true to size?

Yes, our clothing runs true to size and is sized similar to most other American brands. If a sizing discrepancy is discovered, you will see fit advice in that product's specific listing.

Very comfortable and warm

Very comfortable and warm. Note, they aren’t as tight and close to skin as typical skiing/athletic base layers, they definitely lean more towards comfort and warmth.

Very toasty and comfy

Purchased these for my husband for fat tire winter biking. When first outting them on he remarked how soft but felt tight. After the day of riding....he LOVES THEM. Very warm, stayed dry from sweat and going back for more Minus 33 clothing!

The bomb!

Bought my second pair this week. They are called "mid-weight" but they are way warmer than any others I have found. Length is perfecta with ski boots. Love these.

Great, but too short

I've had these for a couple about a year and a half and primarily use them for ski touring. The fabric is great. It has a very wide temperature range of use and is holding up very well.
The big problem is that they are short. I am 6'1" (186 cm) and wear a large and these tights just cover my knees and don't overlap any of my ski socks. I measured the inseam at 21", which is about 3 inches short of what 3/4 length should be.
I still use these bottoms frequently, but the short length makes a cold spot for the coldest days.

BC Sparks,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are glad to hear that you have been enjoying the fabric and temperature range of our Midweight - Tecumseh Men's 3/4 Bottom Woolverino for ski touring. However, we apologize for any inconvenience caused by the length of the tights. We will definitely take this into consideration for future product improvements. In the meantime, we hope you continue to enjoy using our product for your outdoor activities.

Best,

Perfect for boot activities

Love the length for alpine, AT, and Nordic skiing. I’ll also wear while fat tire snow biking. Comfortable and great fit!

Details matter!

I'm so glad I found these. They are the perfect weight under snow pants, and the perfect length to not interfere with my snowboard boots—I bunched up or crammed full-length long johns into my boots for too many years! I find these comfortable all day, warm when wet, and super soft.
I have big calves, so these fit me (30" inseam, size M) a little differently than what's shown in the photo, ending just a couple inches below the knee rather than partway down the calf. They overlap perfectly with Minus33's "All Season - Ski and Snowboard Over the Calf Socks".

Love the fabric! I ordered a size large and I wish they had an extra inch or 2 of length.

I wear these for work outside and pair them with over the calf length socks. If I end up kneeling a lot during the day or stepping up high to get over something tall the longs pull out from my socks and creates a slightly uncomfortable cold spot. I say slightly because these things are awesome, I just wish they were a little longer

Hi Ian,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a great, detailed review. It's great to hear that you are enjoying the fabric and quality of your Minus33 Tecumseh Men's 3/4 Bottoms! Furthermore, I'd like to add that we take our customer feedback seriously and I will pass along your suggestion of adding some extra length in this garment to our Design team. Or perhaps adding some tall sizes so that taller guys can have that extra length without having to size up in all areas. Thanks again for your review and your feedback.

Stay warm,

-Steven D

Very Happy

I just got back from a 9 day trip in the woods. I wore these the entire time.
No stench, dry quick, and no noticeable wear. Very happy. If they make an expedition weight I would buy them too.

Ryan,

Thank you for the great review! We are very happy to hear how well our Woolverino Tecumseh Men's 3/4 Bottoms worked for you. Keep exploring!

Really warm and comfortable

The fit and feel are high quality and I like the waistband, simple and comfy. Was in NW Maine skiing with 50 mph gusts and -20 deg. I was never cold. The 3/4 are a must for skiing

Tyler,

Thank you for your review! Happy to hear that our Tecumseh Men's 3/4 Bottoms, are keeping you comfortable and warm during your very cold Maine ski trips.

Perfect skiing base layer

This was my first pair of 100% merino gear and couldn't be happier. Way better performance than any of the synthetic base layers I've warn. Didn't get you hot or too cold skiing in 0-20F temps with these and my shells. The most amazing part was that they still smelled completely fresh after 5 straight days of hard skiing.

Dave,

Thank you for the great review!

Astonishing performance

I spend from September-February constantly in the woods and outdoors. The 3/4 solved a big problem of over layering in the boot and causing sweat. Now my socks and thermal combination aren’t too much and durability has been great up until now. I highly recommend to all my clients and to whomever is reading this.

Clint,

We are so glad to hear that your layering system is working out well. Thank you for spreading the word.

Midweight bottoms

Very warm with nice feel to them. They are slightly longer than other short bottoms that I have. I do have short legs.

Warm and right length for short legs

I’m 5’3”, so most full-length bottoms are far too long for my legs. The 3/4 length is just right…just add a pair of wool socks…perfect!

I am glad they worked so well for you! Thank you for the review.

Form-fitting, snug and comfortable.

These are like most products nowadays "designed in the USA, made in China". The price is a bit steep, however the comfort is amazing. I can wear these for hours over underwear and under other clothing and not feel any moisture. I can wear this out in hot weather and feel cool. I can also wear this out in cold weather and feel warm. They are a bit stretchy, not as tight-fitting as say athletic-wear but that is okay. Great quality, can't wait to see how they come out after a nice wash! Thank you Minus33!

Thank you for your review.
