Lawson Glidden, President of Minus33 Merino Wool was recently interviewed by Sierra Rec Magazine highlighting Minus33’s Search and Rescue program.
Glidden provided the backstory on the SAR baselayer program. Operations Manager Joel who previously worked as a Search and Rescue responder described how they would often take off their own gear to save a patient's life in the backcountry. The program started off locally with New Hampshire Fish and Game, and has expanded to the national level.

The program uses factory seconds and gently used Merino wool products to create patient warming kits. These SAR Kits are then deployed during life-threatening emergencies to help prevent or delay hypothermia in patients awaiting rescue. Glidden explains how merino wool is highly chosen by SAR for its ability to regulate temperature, moisture, odor, and insulates even when it's wet.
