6. Enders Falls

This spectacular collection of five distinct waterfalls, some with their own popular swimming pools, is best visited from April through November. The first waterfall is a six-foot cascade, offering a sneak peek at what is ahead. These falls are among the most photographed in Connecticut.

5. Bellevue Falls
Adams, Massachusetts
At approximately six feet tall, the waterfall is not the main attraction at this location. The large pool at its base is the real draw and can accommodate a sizable group.
This location is heavily visited, and dogs are not allowed. Follow Leave No Trace practices and check posted parking hours and regulations.

4. Warren Falls
Warren, Vermont
This emerald-colored pool on the Mad River is considered one of the area's best swimming holes. Clear green water and tall gorge walls surround the pools.
Warren Falls is a longtime Vermont favorite, so expect other visitors during warm weather. The pools are spacious, but always check current water conditions and use extreme caution around cliffs, jumping areas, and wet rocks.

3. Frenchman's Hole
Newry, Maine
This swimming spot was once one of Maine's best-kept secrets. Located a few miles from Sunday River Ski Resort, the large pool sits below a 10-foot waterfall.
The drive crosses multiple bridges and winds through the woods before reaching a large parking area with picnic tables. It is a comfortable place to spend the day and enjoy the water.

2. Lower Falls
Albany, New Hampshire
Located just off the Kancamagus Highway, Lower Falls is a historic White Mountain National Forest attraction. With bathrooms, drinking water, and a covered picnic area, it is a popular family destination.
Continuing along the Kancamagus Highway, you can also find Sabbaday Falls, Rocky Gorge, and Champney Falls. Lower Falls stands out as an easily accessible swimming destination.
1. Diana's Baths
Bartlett, New Hampshire
These falls are worth visiting throughout the year. The area features potholes, cascades, slides, small plunges, and naturally formed pools.
Use caution during high-water conditions because rushing water can cover the entire area, including the swimming holes. Under normal conditions, the 12-foot waterfall flowing over smooth granite creates a memorable summer destination.
A large parking area is located near the entrance, and a parking fee may be required. The falls are reached by an approximately 0.6-mile hike along a relatively flat, wide gravel path.
