100% Merino Wool Kinsman Turtleneck - Midweight. Did you know that in the UK a turtleneck is called a polo neck? And in Australia and New Zealand, it’s called a Skivvy? We say, call it whatever you want, but make sure you have one! Great for skiing, hunting, fishing, hiking, or just plain old taking your dog for a walk. You’ll grow to love this Merino turtleneck when you need a little extra something to keep your neck warm.

Fit FAQs

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up.

Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Does your clothing run true to size?

Yes, our clothing runs true to size and is sized similar to most other American brands. If a sizing discrepancy is discovered, you will see fit advice in that product's specific listing.

Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

Turtleneck is too loose.

The body of the garment fits well. But the turtleneck flops around - too loose to adjust correctly.

Mark,

Thank you for your feedback on our Midweight Kinsman Turtleneck. We apologize that the turtleneck was too loose for your liking. We will certainly take this into consideration for future designs. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to our customer service team for any assistance with adjusting the fit or a return. Thank you for your support.

Warm and comfy

Very comfortable turtleneck. I haven't worn a turtleneck shirt in years because I always felt they were too uncomfortable around the neck. I wanted something that I could wear in cold weather while hiking. It fits comfortably and does not feel tight on the neck, yet it's snug enough to keep you warm. In fact, it's a little too warm for hiking most of the time as I tend to sweat easily. It's better in really cold weather as a base layer, like below zero weather. I have purchased a few products now I've been happy with everything. I especially like that the company is local.

Hi Ryan,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our Midweight Kinsman Turtleneck. We're so glad to hear that it has been keeping you warm and comfortable during your hikes. We understand the struggle with finding a comfortable turtleneck, and we're happy to hear that ours has met your expectations. We appreciate your support and we're proud to be a local company. Stay warm out there! :)

Best,

Customer Service Team
